The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) was established in 1941, and is an international association with global headquarters in Altamonte Springs, Fla., USA. The IIA is recognized as the internal audit profession's leader in certification, education, research, and technical guidance and serves internal auditing practitioners, executive management, boards of directors and audit committees. Members work in internal auditing, risk management, governance, internal control, information technology audit, education, and security. With global representation (the IIA serves more than 170,000 members in over 165 countries and territories), the IIA is recognized throughout the world as the internal audit profession's leader in certification, education, research, and technological guidance.
Twin Cities Chapter: Locally, the IIA has an active chapter of over 1,460 members. The chapter provides professional seminars, roundtables, and other networking opportunities for its members. Student memberships are available at a rate of $30 per year. The Twin Cities chapter also awards memberships to select students each year. Student members are eligible to join student chapters, receive publications and special discounts on products and services.
