The Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is a constitutional office which works to ensure financial integrity and accountability in local government financial activities.

The OSA has oversight responsibility for all units of local government. Oversight of these local governments is achieved through auditing, reviewing, investigating, reporting and educating.

The Audit Practice Division performs 160 financial and compliance audits and reviews, and approximately 400 single audits per year.

The Office of the State Auditor has regional offices throughout the State of Minnesota to better provide service for local governments. Regional offices are located in Duluth, Mankato, Marshall, Moorhead, and Rochester. In addition, the Division operates from two worksites in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
